Guided by a shared commitment to youth development and employability, LGU Midsayap thru the Municipal Administrator and the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) convened partner academic institutions for the Coordinators’ Consultation Meeting on SHS Immersion and Tertiary Internship Programs at the MSWDO Conference Hall.
Bringing together Internship and Immersion Coordinators from partner schools, including Southern Christian College and Notre Dame of Midsayap College - the First Notre Dame School in Asia , the discussion focused on aligning programs with DepEd and CHED requirements, strengthening partnership agreements, and ensuring that students are given real-world exposure that builds competence, discipline, and professional values. The meeting centered on one core principle of making the students’ immersion and internship experience at the LGU truly meaningful, relevant, and transformative for their future careers.
The Municipal Administrator John Karlo Karl Ballentes emphasized that internships should go beyond compliance, stating, “Our goal is not just to host interns, but to mentor them so their stay in the LGU becomes a foundation for future employment and public service.”
Echoing this, the HRMO Officer Jhoanna Samson Ballentes highlighted the importance of structured training and guidance, noting, “When students are properly guided, exposed to actual workplace standards, and treated as future professionals, they develop the skills and work ethic employers look for.”
Meanwhile, the Municipal Mayor Rolando C. Rolly Udm Sacdalan reaffirmed the LGU’s commitment to youth empowerment and partnerships with schools, sharing that,
“Investing in our students today is investing in the future of Midsayap. Through strong collaboration with our academic partners, we help shape capable, service-driven, and employable citizens.”
Through strengthened coordination and shared purpose, LGU Midsayap and its partner institutions continue to create learning environments that prepare students not only for graduation—but for meaningful careers and responsible citizenship.
